 The 9th Montpelier Fashion Show is the evening of Friday June 7th, 2013 on the State House lawn! A night in ancient Rome! Ever notice that gorgeous woman on top of our State House? That is Ceres the Roman goddess of agriculture and she will be over- looking our night of fashion and fun at the 9th Annual Montpelier Fashion Show. EVERY ONE IS A MODEL AND EVERY ONE IS A DESIGNER! Welcome to the Montpelier Fashion Show where the downtown shoppers and local beauties hit the runway in support of the businesses- and not just the clothing stores! The above dress appeared in the 2007 show... Made of live flowers and reeds, it was created by the Pink Shutter- a flower shop! In the past, this family-friendly event has taken place the first Saturday in June each year and has been held literally in the middle of the Street. Pretty cool capitol city to allow an amateur fashion show to close one of the only two main streets for a whole day each year! But this year, we'll be taking it up a notch, making it an evening event, adding some mood lighting and celebrating on the State House lawn. Because a beautiful and healthy body begins with nourishment... The 2013 non-profit partner is the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont. NOFA is a nonprofit association of farmers, gardeners, and consumers working to promote an economically viable and ecologically sound Vermont food system for the benefit of current and future generations. Ceres would be so proud!
